I'm wondering how it really is better to be alone. Alone is so final sounding. This is an extremely deep thoughtful piece. "Pondering thinker" as I like to call this type. They have us examine what we this is best vs. what it really is...make sense? I can feel an undertone of hope though...can't pinpoint it but it just flits through my mind as I read this poem..and I've read it 3 times. Just like your friend said, "Just keep your head up" :) You look down and that is where you'll end up...look straight and level because you ARE a person just like everybody else :)
