Let me free

Let me free

A Poem by Brook Hughes

I go through every school day

Without saying one word

I keep my mouth shut

I eat like I'm suppose to.

I get good grades and do my homework.

I come home and pretend everythings fine

I put on an act

I hid what's on the inside

And I still continue to hide what's on the inside

But nothing's ever good enough

More things continue to happen

Taking away the meaning of life

I'm trapped in a difficult place

I can't get out.

Nobody want's to help me

They just ignore me

I beg

Plead

And cry for help but nobody answers

Nobody saves me

Who's going to save me?

Who's going to let me free?

i love the edning on this
Who's going to save me?
Who's going to let me free?
i wondered this question for a long time.
when that person comes along, believe me, it will have been worth the wait.
the trapped feeling is just something telling us that we need love in our lives. most questions and problems in life can all be solved by love. the beatles were totally right when they said "all you need is love"
thats what trully set us free!

This is great. I can relate to this because that's the way I was in school. Quietly pretending like everything was fine, but really sad on the inside.

That's how I felt (except for the good grades part) in elementary school when I was bullied. Great work!

I imagine it depends what is happening to this person as too who can help them. For the most part we have to help and save ourselves by being willing to stand and speak up for ourselves. Holding things in is not the same as pleading for help. Thou many people are pretending to be happy on the outside but inside they are truly depressed. This was a good write.
