The voices in my head

The voices in my head

A Poem by Brook Hughes

There are voices in my head telling me to do things.

Things that are good and thing that are bad.

"What are you waiting for do it already, get it over with."

" Wait, no don't do it, youre throwing everything away."

" Don't listen to him, listen to me!"

" He's not the boss, I am!"

" If you do this one thing we can be together forever."

" You don't want to be wiht him."

" Don't listen to him."

"Your putting everthing at risk!"

Your future life, career and your family, don't do it."

What am I suppose to do, I'm so lost and confused.

I can't take it anymore!

"Don't do it!"

"Get it over with, end your misery."

BANG BANG BANG

wow kind of scary really.

this is very scary, but people don't realize that all of us have voices in our heads at one point or another, some people just choose to ignore them and then all that emotion builds up inside them and that is when they start to take over like the example in this poem.

Lol, my head is like that. There's an angel and devil voice! I love how you did it!

Nice example and this probably is more common in all of us than most people consider with forces constantly pulling us one way and then the other.

One of my favorite drawings is by Albrecht Durer called,
"The Knight Death And The Devil", which is of a Christian Knight who is riding an emaciated horse. His poor dog is by his side but so is Death and Devil, whispering constantly in his ears. He ignores all of it and just looks forward to the journey.

Hmmm
You seem to have made a certain mockery of suicide. It's interesting to think what may be going on in someones head just before they pull the trigger. Oh well it's their decision, nicely portrayed here.
