The Last GoodnightA Poem by Bhavya Kaushik
Shut down every window and close every door,
Don’t allow anyone to pass across this Boulevard. Close your eyes now and hear their silent screams, Coming from the main street, from the graveyard. Shed every other color now and wear only black, Let just mourn for the loss, and grieve for his death. Let me remember his last memory, his last smile, The things he said to me before his last breath. In just a moment, he has gone to an unknown space, There it goes- his frozen coffin out of the sight. Let me say something to him, may be even a goodbye, Let me wish to him with my cold words the last goodnight. .... © 2011 Bhavya KaushikAuthor's Note
