The other side of the Bed

The other side of the Bed

A Chapter by Bhavya Kaushik

...

†The Evanescent screams†

† The other side of the Bed

Forsaken by sleep and lying down on bed,

Still unable to open my eyes into reality

Where you are no longer here with me,

And the other side of the bed is empty.

The side which is motionless intact and safe,

Still smells of your sweet and unforgettable scent.

It constantly reminds me of your absence,

By making me realize that you are not coming back.

The pillow has turned wet because of my tears,

And there is no place left for me to rest.

Though time has wiped away your material presence,

But I’m still unable to sleep on the other side of the bed.

Wow, you always can make the reader feel. I was drawn in from the first stanza and I love the ending, especially this line...

Though time has wiped away your material presence... this line to me just feels like an empty hole...great description...

Very heartfelt and Excellent job...

Very touching. It's odd how even something like a bed can symbolize our greatest dislikes or likes even.
"The side which is motionless intact and safe,

Still smells of your sweet and unforgettable scent."
I really like that part of your piece because it shows a bit of symbolism and truly shows the reader how well you knew her. Great work! :D

When my son died I used to go in his room and smell his blankets and cry on his pillow..when I moved from that place into a new place.. I got so angry and cold..
I used to sit on the floor and wait for the sunset and cry when I knew that he will never come home and call me MOM.. and with this words I say.. to you

I love you even now I do not know you.. I know you are one person searching for the love you lost but I know and believe me..She is not death.. she is just in another dimension and she can see you and at times she is in the other side of the bed.. smiling and loving you.. and sometimes kissing you.. OH My god

i must tell you... one of the best lines i saw in ur entire works is here:

"Though time has wiped away your material presence" and with that line.. the ending is just excellent...

"Though time has wiped away your material presence,
But I’m still unable to sleep on the other side of the bed."

U make me feel excited to feel love and you also make me scared of feeling it... How can you show "love" with both sides? With its etarnal beauty and with its heartwrenching pain... all in one.

You are exceptional. And if you allow me to say, you are a master at this.
Congratulations Bhavya... very well done.
