You won't be back...

You won't be back...

A Poem by Bhavya Kaushik
"

:'(

"

..

You won't be back…

Dropping of a tear break this long stillness,

As recollections of our past surrounds me.

I was a pilgrim and you were my sacred place,

But now I know together we can't exist.

I can't forget the day when you left this world,

And I realized that how wicked god could be.

I don’t miss you the way like others do,

You are still alive here inside of me.

My life changed from the day you passed away,

And with every second I wished for you to come back.

You are in my prayers and in words that I say,

I just hope for someday to once see you again.

And since I didn’t even said to you a goodbye,

So with this poem my love, I promise.

I won’t forget you till the day I die,

As only with you I’ll be there in my afterlife.

You know what Bhavya, I know a guy here on writerscafe and he also writes eye-watering poems, he is my best friend and because of that I always want him to be happy. His girlfriend actually died because of leukemia last years and he is still fighting with her memories and you know what I think...He can't come out of it!
Don't say that god is wicked, he actually loved her more than anyone on this world could love her, she was her special child and that is why he wanted that angel to be with her.
I heard something moths before that when someone leave this world, he/she becomes your guardian angel and always keep their eye on you. You know what, she also must be now watching you. She also must be laughing with your smiles, must be happy to see whenever you do something good, but..she also must be crying with you and for you, whenever every tear rolls out of your eyes she must also have cried a lot at that times. So don't let her cry my dear friend.
Accept this world, you know what this world is very wicked and cruel and it would be very hard for you to relive it.
But you know what, You have yourself given the answer in the end. So what if you can't be together with her in this life. But you will be with her after your life till eternity.
You know what Bhavya, the friend about whom I was talking above was no one but you...

Fortunately, I haven't yet experienced the death of someone I've been very close to. So I do not understand the exact emotions here. But an overwhelming sense of loss is evident here.

I was taken in right from the beginning when I read the first stanza

I was a pilgrim and you were my sacred place,
But now I know together we can't exist.

How did you come up with these 2 lines is beyond my comprehension.
Then I went on to the 2nd stanza and it left me amazed. Yet again.
And this is exactly how I went through the remaining part of your poem.

The pictures are perfect as is usually the case with your writings. I especially love the fact that they are in black and white. The feel that adds to the poem is just incredible.

I wish I could go on and on about this particular poem but I cannot as much as I'd like to because I've fallen short of words. That's what this piece has done to me.

The more I read you, the more I seem to fall in love with tragedy.
And that is a nice thing to happen because those who love tragedy are never disappointed in life.

If this is not your best composition, I will be happy to be proven wrong again (as you have done so many times in the past).

P. S. The tense doesn't quite sound right in a couple of places. A grammer check will set it right.

what a sad and inspiring write....though there is the loss of someone special, there is also hope in respect that that someone is still alive in the heart and soul. the hope that one day you will again see each other is the ultimate hope.

And since I didn't even said to you a goodbye,
So with this poem my love, I promise.
I won't forget you till the day I die,
As only with you I'll be there in my afterlife.

a great write as always, Bhavya :)
