Because...He was dead!

Because...He was dead!

A Poem by Bhavya Kaushik
"

Acrostic

"

BECAUSE… HE WAS DEAD !!!

Blood was dropping from his wrist in vain,

Even the entire floor now turned to red.

Consciously he was facing that inevitable pain,

Addiction for love forced him close to death.

Unwritten was his destiny and dark was his fate,

Speechlessly he stood but he doesn't have any regret.

Echoes of his past but were asking him to wait!!!

He was just holding a razor blade in his hands,

Edge of which was cutting one of his blood veins.

Without soul, without words and now without life he laid,

Apologies or prayers now can't bring him back.

Suicide he had committed as by her, he was already declared dead!

Dead is he now and silently resting in his grave,

Even for whom he gave his life is living with no pain.

Alas! This is not the way true love should end,

Dark end of love like this may never happen with anyone again….

Author's Note

Bhavya Kaushik
Well..this writing basically focuses on teenage suicides...Suicide is the third leading cause of death in people between the ages of 15 and 20 after motor vehicle accidents and homicides... And heartache is I guess one of the leading factor behind that! So....here it is.....!
Often I've heard people saying that "Suicide is my way to tell god that you can't fire me...coz' I myself quit"
No! It isn't like that....we only have one life to live and thus only life to love! so...be what you are and if you gets a breakup! then...move ahead, this is what life is all about..

okay! I can talk the entire day about it! :D :D

Bhavya! OH MY!
This is astoundingly creative,
and tragic!
A horrific view at the result
of some's heartbreak which they
don't believe they can continue to
endure.

I have seen this happen first hand
within my own family walls and it
is as real as you have painted it
here with your words.

We need to understand, the other
person will continue on, yet a life
was wasted. If they would just hang
on to hope a little longer.... never
give up. Ever. Such sadness... tragedy :(

You have incredible talent my friend.... !
Excellent writing!

Suicide... it's a door that leads to darkness that no soul can come back..! It is painful to see that
life it self.. it's suicide..! not every person that died knows their after life.
I know a soul who up to today.. thinks about that exit door.. and that to me is a curiosity i won't never entertain or.. try to pick on the other side... I love the way you lay this piece...I say it is a masterpiece also
because..I see in this writing.. faith, pain, lost, and death...sad..and sublime..!
Thank you..! your new friend.. Magic

My favorite lines is the whole poem but this was superb..
Dead is he now and silently resting in his grave,

Even for whom he gave his life is living with no pain.

Alas! This is not the way true love should end,

Dark end of love like this may never happen with anyone again.

I have a tender heart towards those that choose this pathway, as my mother was one of them. I am glad you chose to write about something so prevalent amongst teens, but also adults...

Beautifully done, Bhavya! Carole

Powerful words about an emotionally destructive topic; so well done. I was suicidal for ten years and the pain still haunts me at times. Thank you for addressing such a devastating issue in such a creative way.

Tough subject to write about...you handled it well. Your author's note is to be admired as well. Nice acrostic.

When we write acrostics, at times the pressure to maintain the form is so much that some lines may seem forced. But that is never so when you write them. If you hadn't used red font in the first letter f each sentence, the fact that this is an acrostic would'nt have been evident in the first place.

Those who are left behind are left with questions that they may never find answers to. Your poem reminds me of a show I watched on TV where the families of those who had taken this drastic step were being interviewed. They were inconsolable. I wish we had more strength to endure what we face in life instead of breaking under stress. This is quite a prevalent topic for research in many parts of the world but unfortunately a lot has been said about why people commit suicide; not much attention has been paid to how one can prevent it.
