What hurts the most...

What hurts the most...

A Poem by Bhavya Kaushik
"

inspired by the song "What hurts the most"

"

...

WHAT HURTS THE MOST……?

Waking up and getting ready for the day,

Living everyday but being trapped in this old hutch.

Yes, I can…I can live my life all this way,

As… that does not bother me much

I'm not a felon or committed any serious crime,

Then why am I paying such a great cost.

Of only loving you even more than my life,

But that is not what hurts the most….

To walk alone without any destination in this rains,

To lonely cry these tears and letting them to meet the sea.

To have an empty heart but with so much pain,

But now none of them hurts me…

Whenever I meet our old friends, I force a smile,

As I have no answer for their questions about us.

Whenever I see your photograph, a tear rolls out of my eyes,

But that does not bother me so much…

Often when I close my eyes, I hear your voice,

Saying that "I'm still here by your side…"

I have no other choice than to live with this void,

But now I'm fine as for that I have already cried.

Whenever they ask me – Then… " What hurts the most…? "

All I could say is …. ….

What hurts the most was being so close

Having so much to say but watching you walking away

And pretending all the way that everything is just ok

To wait for you every night and every other day

Hallucinating myself that one day you would be back again

Unselfishly still loving you and every pain which you gave

Recollecting the words which I kept in my heart but never said

Those words which I left unspoken for always

Still I'm living but with every second I have this regret.

That the last words which you said was – "I love you, but…"

How you made me feel like... "What more could I do?"

Else I have no other complain from you…

Masochistically I'm getting it very well with this ache,

Out of which I know I can't come back.

Superfluity of this pain now began to take its toll,

The thing which hurts the most… was being so close…

.....

What hurts the most…was being so close…. ….

Author's Note

Bhavya Kaushik
Totally inspired by the song "What hurts the most" :)
And the lines - "What hurts the most was being so close
Having so much to say but watching you walking away" has been taken from the song itself...
So..that's it..
:) :)

It is also like... an half acrostic work ..I mean the one of "What hurts the most " :D

Out of which I know I can't come back.

I think so too. Your feelings are too intense and your attachment is too much. Perhaps it is your sensitivity that draws such great poems out of you.
If one has loved truly, it is not possible to forget or replace that love with another, no matter how 'worldly perfect' the latter happens to be.

As you get better with every work, I find that I'm running short of words to review you!!

This is sad, but yet I really see promise and hope.
In this Line: But that is not what hurts the most...I believe
it should be "hurt" instead of "hurts". In this line:
Superfluity....I don't even know if that is a word, if so,
forgive me. This is a good poem overall. AD

Nice job in changing styles. Poem is sad, full of love and devotion and the hurt is evident in your words, the flow is clear and neat.

So beautifully sad Bhavya :-( My heart aches for you and your pain, and I wish that I could wipe away the tears. In my heart, I believe you will come back... You will eventually see that life is too short to waste it on someone who doesn't appreciate you, the incredible man that you are, inside and out. I must admit that I'm not familiar with the song, although I understand the situation that you so brilliantly write about in so much of your verse. Yes, my dear, the operative words are you 'were' so close, and I must wonder if she wanted you back would you ever feel the same about her... she who has made you miserable, abandoned and lonely... You unselfishly loved... You deserve so much more... Exceptional acrostic... Mood and tone are intense as always... I will soon have an entire collection of your work in my library...

Beautiful as alway Bhavya! So heartbreaking still...
yet so full of love. Wow...

I love the way you've formatted this poem,
outstanding.

"Having so much to say but watching you walking away
And pretending all the way that everything is just ok
To wait for you every night and every other day"

Sigh. Such longing... pain.
And then the day eventually comes,
that the waiting ends..
and life begins again.

As always my friend, awesome work. :)

Peace and love,

Dani

So true it is.. more closer you are more u are hurt. Can we then stop moving closer! not at all..

It's like wasps.. flies.. rush with eyes blind.. to hit the light and get burnt. They have no mind but we do, yet love is blind.. to get close.

A nice poem bhavya.. keep going.

This is one of my favorite songs and the way you wrote this poem with original reference with the song is really amazing! You are such a great writer...

And poems like this can only come from a broken heart and I'm very sorry for that. Isn't it like quite strange how once we once found ourself in a relationship and next second we found that..oh! it is all gone.
oh! you made me cry...you devil! ^-^
This was awesome!
.....

I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house
That don't bother me
I can take a few tears now and then and just let them out
I'm not afraid to cry every once in a while
Even though going on with you gone still upsets me
There are days every now and again I pretend I'm ok
But that's not what gets me

What hurts the most
Was being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was tryin' to do

Wow!! This is again like....I don't know what to say except WOW WOW WOW!!!
The substance behind is is really very intense and thus it is such a powerful piece of writing.
oh! I'm having the same condition like Caffeine, I don't know what to say as it is really too good for my words!

Bhavya...Dear Bhavya, Don't feel so bad! Let your emotions flow. Don't pretend that everything is ok because it is not. I really want to talk to you about this, as the pain which you are having inside of your heart is really too much and I can't see my friend like this.
Poem is great and I agree with rose, You are a master of writing these kinds of poems now! Beautiful Bhavya..Beautiful!
