Love Story

Love Story

A Poem by Bhavya Kaushik
"

Inspired from and dedicated to "Love story" written by Erich Segal

"

"Love story"

Where do I begin to tell the story,

Which is still shining with its glory.

Story about how pure love could be,

It's all about Oliver Barrett

And Jennifer Cavilleri.

It's about the love she gave to him.

And even created a ray of hope,

From the light so dim…

Met as strangers but soon came together,

Since for them love was above all religion.

Struggled with parents and their situations,

As their love was reality not an illusion.

With every step they together fought,

Even against that of god.

And finally created a world of their own,

But gradually dusk conquered their dawn.

And Jenny…oh Jenny! Why you left him away,

Oliver only prayed to god for you to stay.

But you left him alone for every night and everyday,

And I've no answers but this much I can say…

True love only comes for once in anyone's life,

Which could melt even a frozen heart's ice.

And Oliver, he will never be lonely,

Because he will always cherish the love that,

Jennifer gave to him.

And with this much love,

Who could ever be lonely?

Love doesn't have a happy ending as it never ends,

And its feel is impossible for anyone to mend.

True love is one of it own kind,

Because love is somehow really blind…

Love is deeper that the depth of any ocean or sea,

It never vanishes but still its feel no one could see.

Love is so vast and with extreme measure,

And could bring springs in autumns pleasure.

Love is what happened between Oliver and Jennifer,

As it's immortal and always going to stay there.

And this was their sweet love story,

Which taught me that-

"Love means not ever having to say you're sorry…"

Author's Note

Bhavya Kaushik
I wrote this piece for the contest "Make Erich Segal(the author of Love story) proud"
As, I'm a great fan of that story and thus this is just an attempt to draw some of the emotions of the story.

And I thus dedicate this piece to Erich Segal :)

You have captured the tender essence of love here and the beautiful "Love Story" told. I really like how you brought in the book's characters and brought the story back to life....
"Where do I begin to tell the story,

...Excellent poem with story references and quotes used so wonderfully throughout.
Your writing captures the joys and pain of love...I'm sure Erich Segal would be very touched by this, as I am!

(Sorry for reviewing this so late)
SO...Once again...Bhavya kaushik is his best ^_^
I loved this one and I agree with others that it's actually very hard to almost re-write a story but in the form of a poetry.

"Love is deeper that the depth of any ocean or sea,

It never vanishes but still its feel no one could see.

Love is so vast and with extreme measure,

And could bring springs in autumns pleasure."

I loved these lines a lot, as it made me love with love. Thanks for the share!

This is really beautiful and it must be hard for you to write a piece like this maintaining the dignity of the original story.
A very daring work, beautiful write.

Tha absolute essence of love - never needing to say you are sorry - although it helps sometimes. Thank you - a lovely poem indeed. Best of luck in the contest.

Before writing anything I first need to commit that Love story is the most beautiful story that I've ever read.
It's one of my favourite and very close to my heart.
I cried for hours after reading the story and I even cried after reading this beautiful...really beautiful piece.
And It's very hard to write any story in a poem like this.
But You are really a very talented writer. Thanks a lot for writing such a beautiful piece.

Wah wah! Very nice! Bhavya Kaushik is coming out in the darkness! It's like seeing owls out at day time! Just joking my friend. Very qute and nice love story my friend. I let out a deep sigh after finishing reading this; thinking when Love will happen with me. I liked the last para the most:

And this was their sweet love story,

Which taught me that-

"Love means not ever having to say you're sorry…"

Very nice message indeed. I wonder whether love is really like that or not. If I find out I'll let you know. Thanks for sharing it in here. ~KA~
