Black and WhiteA Poem by BledaThe song of a woman, suffering from Borderline Personality Disorder.
Sad, unloved and alone, she sits behind the bars Of a prison made of broken dreams, that fell from broken stars She builds this world of pain around her to lock away the light And reposes in the shadowed realms of a life in black and white
You do not know why the sun never rises for me You do not know why the emptiness is all that I can see So I paint my dreams in the brightest Technicolor of light To break away from the chains of a life in black and white
She loved him once upon a time when blossoms fell from clouds Now she walks by graves of hope draped in Beauty’s shrouds She showed him a million vibrant shades of a life of sweet delight But all that Fate could show him in the end was her life in black and white
You do not know why the morning never dawns for me You do not know why the darkness sets my spirit free So I paint my dreams in colours warm and bright And sleep on a bed in the house of Life in black and white
Friends loved her first and foremost, foremost amongst them all But then they let her burn to ashes and like the snow she’d fall Fall for years and months and days, like tears of a forest sprite Until she let herself succumb to a life in black and white
You do not know why the ocean breaks under my feet And drowns me along with all my tears making it complete I am the song of silence, the daylight of the night I am the last survivor of a life in black and white I am the last survivor of a life in black and white © 2012 BledaFeatured Review
