The Leper and The BardA Poem by talronMy first poem ever. A brief look at anxiety from different perspectives. I know it's pretty rough, but it means a lot to me.
Clenched fists, concealed thoughts
Electricity courses through the heart Rationality abolished as primalilty prevails Thick fog obscures the leper, an impenetrable shield of his own creation Insurgent plots foiled again by his wicked tricks Another failure, another success Trodding home with an uneasy smile he is overcome with gravity, an irresistible pull from the depths Betrayed again, he trudges on Rain greets the leper Even the skies are watching Bright smile, welcoming gaze Hands shake with anticipation of the first note Practiced to please, he strums his instrument His play enlightens and overcomes all, all but the bard Spirits uplifted, concerto concludes Packing his instrument in solitude, he cries. Missed notes, indecent presentation, varied vibrato Hall of liars, clapping with hands of alleged endearment Betrayed again, he walks away Rain greets the bard Another success, another failure Fog obscures his bitter symphony Shared darkness keeps his suffering at bay Sun light appears through the miserable shroud Smiling back at him, no sign of a cloud © 2024 talron |
