Sea of Fear

Sea of Fear

A Poem by Jupiter
"

a song about dealing with my panic disorder.

"
a thousand stones are thrown
at me, through me, right to me
As I lay on the ground
they start to surround
crushing my chest until I cannot breathe
until I cannot see
my heart is racing
my palms are sweaty
if only I could find
my great escape

but the sea washes up to me
and carries me away
and I am lost in its tight
persuasive sway
the tears begin to come
my mind clouded by the sun
and then it all becomes clear
I am lost
yes, I am lost
in a sea of fear

my head begins to settle now
but I can't control these shakes
I live in fear of the next one
so my life it slowly takes
its dark here in this cave
where I have reserved myself to be alone
I spend my days a peeping tom
watching others pass by
while I wither away
in my own little cave
where I know its safe

but the sea washes up to me
and carries me away
and I am lost in its tight
persuasive sway
the tears begin to come
my mind clouded by the sun
and then it all becomes clear
I am lost
yes, I am lost
in a sea of fear

and soon I realize no one is coming
so I sit down on the ground
and start humming
a familiar tune that has brought me through
many times before
and I close my eyes
and it opens the door

and the sea washes up to me
and I walk away
and I am no longer lost in its tight
persuasive sway
the tears stop coming
and I'm dried up by the sun
and then it all becomes clear
you have to find your own way out
out of this
sea of fear

so tough to deal with this kind of thing...as i read i could hear music in the background...music with an edge to it...the kind that makes you feel a bit uncomfortable...and sooner or later there are no more tears to shed, no more pain to feel...we have to sway ourselves out of this feeling...forge ahead and try to deal our confidence a winning hand.

Beautifully written.. Describes very beautifully that there are things in life you have to overcome by yourself..
And the line ' you have to find your own way out' rightly says it all.
Thanks for sharing!

Nice write,
There is a darkness in this piece and I sense you feel pulled in different directions yet having no real control over where you go or what is happening to you. The sea of fear is something we can all relate to it comes in different forms per person but we all have to overcome those demons or things that drag us down. Very beautiful write, thanks for sharing it.
