Our Love was Made of IceA Poem by JupiterThis is a poem about a long lost friend. We stopped talking years ago but some days, like today, I miss him terribly.
I miss you some days
in fact most days you cross my mind But you are too far away from me too far for me to reach and I don't think you'd let me touch you even if I crawled to your door The moments that went on in the past are not unforgettable but yet I find myself letting them go in the gentle summers breeze while you hold on to them as if they were the last thing you'll ever eat I wish you'd let me in a part of me romances what we could be but I know deep down somewhere this could never be a reality For our love was always made of ice if untended it'd often melt but we kept the fans of our hearts strong and we made beautiful art carved from our words towering and cold unfiltered and bold But life caught up with our dream and our tight bond began to unravel at the seams the fans we so often kept on turned away to other things and our bond was not quite as strong With one little flame everything came tumbling down the ice turned into streams we dodged the falling chunks not together, but separate preserving our own well being we were too broken to mend Some days are harder than others and in those days o' how I miss you so the other days you may cross my mind but I try to let it go O' our love was made of ice and it surely did sink away but I'll never forget those long nights and I'll never be quite the same
