Longing
A Poem by Jupiter
Does the pain ever go away?
Come
back to me, my love.
O how I miss you so.
I didn’t want you to leave,
so why did you have to go?
Death is so cruel to the living,
and time…
it is never forgiving.

I feel there is a mismatch between your description of the poem and the poem itself. I don't think the poem asks that question. While the question and the poem are related, it is like the difference between a yelp and a sigh.

I wrote this poem last year and wrote this description when I posted this. You are right though, the emotions are mismatched. In my opinion the question is almost in exasperation while the piece is with forlorn melancholy.
Thanks for the opinion.
