Butterflies and Kisses

Butterflies and Kisses

A Poem by Elizabeth

if kisses were butterflies
I would send them to you
in the breeze

you could watch them sparkle in the sun
the way you watch the stars
at midnight

they would whisper to you
in the dark
when you watch the city sleep

you could tell them stories
and know
they would keep your secrets

if kisses were butterflies

If only.....you see this is just great...I identify with the way you write..

I think you may be a bit cleverer than me though

You have the knack

Very kind, thank you.
i love this poem. it has a dream-like quality and a sweetness that just makes me want to sigh and smile.

first stanza is pure magic. straightforward, magic.
second stanza: the contrast of butterfly kisses sparkling in the sun and the night sky is more simple magic.
the imagery of the third stanza: more magic
like the intimacy of the fourth
