Poison Apples

Poison Apples

A Poem by Elizabeth

poison apples
taste sweeter
with sugar

salt in an open wound
tickles
if you close your eyes

and lies are the truth
if you stand
on your head

Thank you for the compliment ;)
To write from the perspective of a character you love, in this case it is Alice, often can lead to the most interesting work that you will ever create. I like the shortness of this piece and the inverted way that it is written.

You have a great imagination and the brevity packs a punch. Dark humor? Yes, I agree.

Your poetry has this dark humor vibe to it, which I really enjoy. That second stanza made me laugh and cringe at the same time. This really convey the backwardness that is being human.
