My Star

My Star

A Poem by Bebe

I wish you were the man I thought you were, I wish you were the man I hoped you could be. I wished upon my star and it fell from the sky, shattered on the ground in a million pieces.

I scrambled to my star on the ground. I tried so hard to put all the pieces back together. They just will not fit. Each piece that I thought belonged to the other has vanished.

Somewhere as my wish spiraled out of control and fell to the earth all the pieces have scattered and now they are no where to be found. I sit amongst my scattered and shattered star that was my wish that is no more. Alone I sit, wondering where all the pieces went. Alone I sit with myself, my sorrow, my hurt and my shattered star with no more wishes inside of me.....only just for me not to be shattered like my star, but to one day be whole again.

Now that is my wish and now I must go find a new star for this wish for me.

As Jon Gary Frost has said before me, I do think that it would perhaps be easier to read in a different format. It's a well- written piece, and it has great imagery and symbolism. It states the point, and doesn't try to hide it. Good job. =)

Criticism: This would be an easier read in a different format. It didn't seem to be a piece where flow of consciousness was the goal, so as a reader, it would have been better with the ideas formatted.

Kudos: Totally relate to the feeling. Vivid imagery, great symbolism, and very easy to get your point. Seemed very real, very honest. The contrast of the hope vs the hurt was so true to the pains of love.

Good stuff....keep posting.
