there is a strong poignant feeling in this work. i know too well the experience of having high expectations only for them to be shot down. the 'paid dancers' in theend is a mysterious way of ending this verse, but i took it to mean the distractions we seek in order to lull us over from hurt to recovery. and i have indulged myself in a myriad of ways to recoup after heartbreak. while the style is bubbly and the words dazzle on the page, the vulnerability showcased here makes it a profound reading experience.
