Lust

Lust

A Poem by Beth Wilcox

Do you ever miss me?

and lay there in bed wanting to kiss me.

Don't you see?

this was never meant to be.

Don't you get it?

the poison sucked us in when we met.

Do you ever miss me?

and think about what we used to be?

Don't you see?

who I am, isn't me.

Don't you get it?

all this pain that you let.

Miss me, now you gotta kiss me.

See, we were never meant to be.

Get it?

You're the lust that I cannot trust.

I absolutely love this.

"do you ever miss me
and lay there in bed
wanting to kiss me?"

this poem, so well written
of honesty, of what is not meant to be.
I've been through this, or should I say,
I'm going through this and everyone says,
it's lust, not love. but there is this part of
me, wishing there was more, such as feelings
to be confess and adored, but then again,
maybe I'm just fine, maybe I'm just fine
with the lust and wondering if he misses me so.

great write;
