WatchingA Poem by Beth WilcoxI was inspired to write this as I watched my ex boyfriend suck the life out of a girl he ended up dating. Thank you, Austin Groff.I've watched you be with her for months with blood shot eyes. I watch you feed her all those familiar lies.
The ones you did me, when you had convinced me we were meant to be.
I watch as you suck out all her emotion, then lecture her about devotion.
I've been there for her when she sheds those tears, and I try to save her as she's drowning in her worst fears.
I've watched you tell her she's the one, then acuse her for the things you have done.
I watch as you hold her hand like she's a porcelian doll reassuring her you'll catch her if she falls.
Then you push her around and knock her down.
I watch her ask you why and you claim it's because she doesn't try.
I watch as she dedicates her life to you, like I once did when I had no clue.
You have brainwashed her to thinking that this is love, and I pray God will show her as he watches above.
Without a doubt, she needs to get out. © 2011 Beth WilcoxReviews
