Small

Small

A Poem by Beth Middleton
"

A little something I wrote for my two youngest siblings. I wanted to write something that focussed entirely on something positive without being about romantic love.

"

Blonde and Blonder
Little and Littler
Toddle, tickle
Tweedle dee

A giggle, dribble
Twirl, eyes closed!
Run, hide
Can't catch me

Crash,cry
Wipe eyes dry
Quick lullaby
Now sleep

Little Bo Peep
Counting sheep
Eyelashes still
They dream

And words cannot mean
They never could seem
Enough for two people so small

Author's Note

Beth Middleton
I didn't want to overcomplicate this. I tend to veer on the side of flowery when I write and thought that actually, for this poem, it would be better to express the love for siblings, especially much younger siblings, using simple language.
