Chapter 7 Bradley's Suit

Chapter 7 Bradley's Suit

A Chapter by WritersSoul

I knew it.
I looked along the grounds of the school now up and buzzing with the school dance. The girls no where in sight. Lewis walked cool like, but he had bugged me about the dance if I was going, and him saying he had a few suits. I did not fancy going, my mind set on keeping myself to myself. However, my heart kept thudding and hurting when I thought about Jade going to the dance, I also said I'd see her there.
Suddenly I remembered a girl at the window. Her black eyes smokey and wwell hidden. Could that have been Jade?
My mind pondered about it, as the dusk air got to me, and filled my nose with overwhelming freshly cut grass from the grass cutters to the left. The sound buzzing loud in my ears, taking my mind off things.
"So," Lewis sat on the bench I did. "Are you going to the dance?" I could tell he really wanted to go. Probably to check someof the girls out. I wasn't interested in any of the girls going... Well.
I shook myself mentally.
Why was she always on my mind?!
I leaned forward, bring my elbows on my knees, arching my back. "I don't know." I snapped.
"I thought you wanted to earlier?" He pushed further.
"What?"
He smiled with cheek. "Jade?" He looked away from my steely gaze he met and didn't want to.
I sat up straight and looked at the sky. Peace. Ever since the other day happened, I can't seem to find it anymore. My life has been just a juggle with mess and faults and emotions that drive me mad. But, when I look at Jade... I feel as if everything stops and stands still, and it's just me and her talking. Making peace.
I shook myself physically now.
Lewis looked at me as if I were crazy.
"You got a large suit?" I looked at a hopeful Lewis.

In our dorm, the window was tightly shut. I didn't want anyone knowing I was going. I didn't want to be spotted so easily.
Lewis drafted through his wardrobe. Picking things out and putting them back, talking to himself quietly.
I looked out the window.
The girls dorm looked quiet. The sky growing slightly orange. The sun silently sinking. I seen as curtains moved in the girls dorm, seen grils rush in and out the building as if a fire were happening.
"Here!" Lewis took out a ironed black suit, with a tag still hanging from it. Brand new. A pair of pants hanging from the bottom, a tie and white shirt there too, already. My eyes grew large and I had an annoyed look on my face. I didn't wear suits.
Suddenly, Jade popped in my head. Her voice sticking in my mind.
I snatched it from Lewis, examining it as Lewis flicked through more clothing in the wardrobe. He smiled as he picked out a grey one.
"Black or grey?" Lewis looked at both, he clearly wanted the grey suit. He looked at me, I just looked at the black. I liked black clothing. It reflected my mood.
I wondered if Jade's eye got worse?
I shook my head. I couldn't get her off my mind!
Lewis looked at me as if I were crazy. "Are you okay, Brad?"
I nodded. I went to the bathroom to get changed. Glimpsing at the clock before leaving.
      05:48 pm.
The dance was at six.
