![]() Chapter 1 Bradley's ChapterA Chapter by WritersSoul![]() The day Bradley enrolled in his new high school, new relatives, new life...![]()
I was in the back of the car, looking out the window as dull rain plastered down. I never wanted things to turn out as they did, but they did and now I was left alone, with morons. Ever since that night, I believe that I had no purpose to live.
However, with the money my aunt Julie has gotten me into a good high school, thing is... It was a boarding school. Two buildings facing eachother are the dormitories. A huge building at the bottom of them two are the school builings, where the classes take place. The whole boarding school is surrounded by trees and wood. Thats the problem I don't like. As the car bumps along a straigt road, I wonder what the girls would be like. Be stuck up b*****s, probably. With all the money spent on them to get them in this high class boarding school, they'd be cruel and evil. I smiled wickedly. Being 15 had its advantages, going to wild after class dormitory parties, thing is, theres always the rules. I moved my locks of brown hair out of my face, looking out the window and gritted my teeth as aunt Julie spoke. "Are you excited to get there, Bradley?" Her blonde hair bounced as the bob turned a second to meet his steely gaze. She turned back with a frightened look upon her face. "I'm sorry-" "Please," I said with completely no emotion, "Don't pity me, Julie." Her look in the review mirror was sad and worried. I couldn't care. Yeah I lost all my family, I don't want pity that just pisses me off and lashes out at people. Not that I don't care who I lash out on, because I don't care what happens to me now. Me and Julie sat in the Rectors Office. He was a plump old man, sitting in his burgandy leather chair, he told me and Julie to call him a Headmaster. He didn't like to be called the Rector of the school. The old man had thinning hair and old grey eyes, wise and true to words he said. His crisp grey suit crinkled when he moved, clasping his hands on top of his old desk. "Now," He smiled. "There are some rules here that you have to obey here at CrossGate Boarding School, and if you don't, I am afraid you will be punished, and if it gets way to out of hand, people have been removed plently of times from this great school. However, you must know rule number one," He raised one finger. "Never smoke, drink, do drugs on the grounds of CrossGate." Great, so much for the after class parties. I sank low in my seat, not bothered by this old man. "Two," Again, another finger. "Do not talk back or assault any teachers in any way." He smiled. "Three," Another finger, hopefully the last one. "Of course we can't have any fighting, or test driving on these grounds but the teachers. But of course, some kids have actually brought a mini motor on the grounds before, nearly knocking out the school Cafe." He smiled even more. I was beginning to get board. I just sat forward and looked him straight in the eye. "No due respect Sir," I was being a cheeky little s**t, but I couldn't be more bothered, I was hot, I was hungry and I was tired. "I have had a rough past few days don't you think, well it'll be nice if you can let me get going now. If you don't mind?" The Headmaster looked at Bradley like he was a child. "Well of course son," His face drooped. "I am truel-" "Don't!" I snapped, looking away. I was getting irratated already by the old man and I didn't want to hate him. "Don't give me your pity." I hushed my voice. The Headmaster just smiled wisely with his pearly whites. "Of course," He brung his hands to his lap. "We also do counselling for children like you." "That would be a great idea!" Julie beamed. I looked up at her as if I were stupid. I wouldn't set foot in a room like that even if I was breaking down on the outside. "Sorry Sir," I couldn't even smile. My smiles now were pure hatred and anger. "I don't think I'd do that." "But of course," The Headmaster smiled warmly. He had that air around him that calmed anguish and hatred around the atmoshphere, I really liked this old man. "Now, please, I have another tranferrer here, and she'd like to get settled already." The old man stood, and shook Julie's hand, reluctantly, he held his hand out. I shook it. On the way out to the Office, I seen a mother with dark brown hair, fair skin and a blue raincoat. She looked up at me, and looked worried, she looked at the person next to her. I quickly looked before I went around the corner. The girl beside the mother took her hood off of her head, letting her dark brown wavy hair fall onto her chest, her eyes a dark brown they almost looked black. Her skin was the colour of sweet coffee and natural lips. The thing that got me was her... Presence, she was the girl that was always happy. Then she looked at me, then I seen her smile. I couldn't help but see that smile and hate it at first. I hated smiles so when the mother wasn't looking, I stuck my middle finger up, just to hurt her. She looked offended then smiled again. I was completely struck by this girl. I was in the stale room of the dorm room with two beds on either side, my light duffel bag containing just new clothes that Julie bought me. The walls were brick but wood panneled over them to insulate the room, a noraml sized window was open a little bit, to my knowledge, it would be fixed to open just that far. The room was quite large, to fit in two single beds, two large wardrobes and two chest of drawers, all fine would, too. The guy on the left bed looked up as I entered. He was handsome. His blonde hair spiked up, his light blue eyes were suicidle for many girls and his style was ok. I couldn't be bothered if this kid wanted me to be his friend or not, I just didn't care at all. He had his bag on the floor, with another on his bed overflowing with clothes. "Hey," The kid smiled, of course, he had straight white teeth. "I'm Lewis, Heron." He held out his hand. I shook his hand. He took his away first and smiled. "Wow," He smiled. "What a grip." He wavered. He looked down. "This is my bed, since I was here first," He looked at me to see if it was alright. I had the kid scared already. I nodded, moving to the right hand side of the bed. The window showed the girls dorm, the replica of the boys but the girls would look much more done up inside. I seen some girls curtains move, I just looked down at my empty looking duffel bag. Just some socks, t-shirts, joggers and jeans with 2 pairs of high-tops. I realised it was Saturday, so there was no school. So I got changed quick in some joggers and a pale blue t-shirt with a black zip up hoody. I left with high-tops and Lewis called out. "Hey!" I stood at the end of the hallway, annoyed. "You wanna look the grounds together?" I looked around, seen some nerdy kids, popular stuck up looking kids and kids that just were quiet. I stuffed my hands deep in my pockets and looked at Lewis. "Lets do it." © 2011 WritersSoulAuthor's Note
