MY SWEET BROTHER OF SERENITY

A poem for my Brother. I am so broken I cant find closure any other way but to write.

They say death is a part of life

 But I wish life was a part of death

 

So I could be with you everyday

To avoid all the pain that is eating me alive in everyway

 

How many tears can my sad eyes cry?

How am I ever suppose to pretend to get by?

 

They say replace the thought of your death with a thought of a good time

I try so hard but all I can do is clench my fists and cry, remebering your amazing shine

 

You will forever be my sweet Brother of serenity

So for now I will live my life on this earth, which will feel like a ticking clock of inifinity

Until my clock goes dead

Then reach down and grab my soul off my death bed

 

My sweet Brother of serenity

 It's me and you for infinity

This is really from heart and very well executed. After reading your toxic drug which charmed me by it simplicity, this one caught me by surprise a little. Much more emotive and complex is this poem which some would say should not be a surprise given the context. However it still takes skill to deliver such heart felt emotion and this a fine poem.

You're very welcome :) There is nothing wrong with being depressed...it's been almost five months to the day since Dad died and I still have emotional peaks and valleys...but I know he'd want me to stay strong and I'm sure your brother would want the same for you :)

They say time heals...Im waiting. I am angered more then sad. Its so out of my control but if I could I would rip him out of the hands of the man upstairs and bring him back to earth...

Well, as you said, it's only been three weeks...anger is a natural response, but one can only surmise that everything happens for a reason...I know that's no consolation at this point in time, but try to look at it this way: your brother had a higher purpose, and maybe it was to watch over you and make sure you're never short of protection or inspiration as your life progresses. Again, I know it's probably hard to accept spiritual talk at this point in time, but that's the philosophy I've adopted to cope with Dad's passing...and maybe this is neither here nor there, but I've done probably the best, or at least the best-reviewed, writing of my life in the last five months...and even though I've slowed a bit in the last month or so, I feel like he's pushing my pen whenever I do pick it up.

omg, that is so touching. thanks bud. I am willing to accept spiritual talk. I am spiritual however not religious.I like the last sentence about how he is puching you pen. and how you said hes making sure im never short of protection...wow thanks
