Prologue - Bucks RowA Chapter by BethanBooks
Footsteps echoed through the stables at Buck’s Row. She thought she could hear the faint whispers of another, she looked around, not a single person in sight. She was alone in the darkened shadowed outskirts of White chapel. It was early morning, when the sky was still dark and the moon was still out. The sky was covered with thick clouds, which made it even darker and dim.
She always visits the stables at the same time, every day to attend her horse. Still, something was making her skin crawl. She shivered to the cold breeze and the rustling wind. She gave a sigh of relief, knowing that her house was only down the road. After locking up the stables and caring for her horse she started walking to the road that led to her house. She picked up her pace as she heard the noises of footsteps and the sound of her surroundings getting louder. She had no reason to be unsettled, nothing has happened in White chapel in years. Why would it start now? But she had the feeling she was being watched from a distance. When she was coming to the end of the dark and gloomy road and she was more familiar to her surroundings, she was thrilled to be safe again. Not knowing that she was going to be the first victim of "Jack The Ripper". © 2017 BethanBooksAuthor's Note
