Brown and White

Brown and White

A Poem by Bethany_Savy
"

Observations after a nature walk

"

Bethany Savarese

White is pure life

With an angelic chorus sound

With a soft feel

A radiant light

Breath in the air

Chilling winds on your skin

Children running to school

Sparse clouds floating away

in hopes of a better tomorrow

Brown is dead

with a crunching sound

with a crumbling feel.

A darkness within.

Representing something that had life that doesn't now.

Grass, leaves, branches, all dead

Left lifeless and unwanted.

A pile of dirt

of thrown away hopes and dreams

pushed away by the harsh winds.

Two colors of nature,

fighting for a chance.

One to make things better,

The other for a life.

Neither one is in the wrong.

They want to live in harmony

but you cannot have both brown and white.

Only one will continue on.

So much beauty can be found when we look at the two extremes of life. Beautifully done, well written, excellent portrayal of the two extremes in the form of color.
