Black Hole Chewing Gum

Black Hole Chewing Gum

A Poem by LE Berry
"

A man in 5006 awaits a collision course for earth...

"

As the blackest of holes approaches, I sit in silence chewing mint flavored gum,

glancing at the clock, waiting to be swallowed. myself and all that ever was.

Hurtling toward oblivion, what I masticate loses all taste upon  wordless tongue,

and now it is only the mindless action of continuing which I crave.

As the planet speeds through the darkening  void of mind filled space,

there is certainty tomorrow, I'll not have the eyes to see, that of another day.

Very, very nice nice. I like the ending most, as it brings the poem back to the narrator's story quite successfully.
