Don't

Don't

A Poem by BetanuZwei

Don’t touch me

Don’t touch me

Your shouts echo

Into the darkness.

I am the only one here

And yet

In the empty space

You are batting away

Invisible hands.

Don’t touch me

Don’t touch me

Each throb in my

Temples seems to resonate

Into the darkness

And yet

You seem not to notice.

You are batting away

Invisible hands.

Don’t touch me

Don’t touch me

Clambering up again

Bare feet on cold stone

In the darkness

And yet

Grabbing your hands

Kissing your wrists

I’m warmed and you’re calmed.

Don’t love me

You whisper.
