Hangover

Hangover

A Poem by BetanuZwei

I want to be your fingernails
Protect your long and slender digits
those soft caresses

I long to rest atop your passionate mind
Your hair is so lucky to frame
that angelic face

I envy your ribcage
Every bone and muscle and sinew
and cell
rising and falling beneath your outer beauty
rising and falling above the tubes and sacks of air and blood
that embody your life, pure life

I envy your ribcage
Sometimes I confuse the thrum of raindrops
the rhythm of the dance
the throb in my temples after a night on a stranger's bathroom floor
and sometimes just the silence

with your heartbeat.

That was really good. I have never seen anyone describe a hangover quite like you have here. The words you use, and the way you use them is great. Like this part for example.
"I long to rest atop your passionate mind
Your hair is so lucky to frame
that angelic face"

The words used here are placed so perfectly, and used in a way that is truly unique. Great Job! :D
