Movie star, so glamourous

Movie star, so glamourous

A Poem by BetanuZwei

I remember when she walked through the door
so out of place
by the water cooler and breathing in
our photocopier ozone.

She could have been a movie star, so glamourous.

Up close she was never stunning,
curls cascading down passed her shoulders,
blonde roots just showing.
She had this lop-sided smile,
more at home on a circus clown.
Cute but never beautiful.

From a distance she was Mrs Right.
Perfect wife.
She never did look the same with her hair spread over my pillow.
