Eyes

Eyes

A Poem by BetanuZwei

Your eyes tell me everything.
Like that time we were in the car,
the funeral song came on the radio.
You didn't cry, not in front of anyone,
but your eyes betrayed you still.

Your eyes tell me everything.
Like that time in French class once,
told Miss you'd been at the hospital.
Strange how you could make past truths lies,
but your eyes betrayed you still.

Your eyes tell me everything.
Like that time you said it didn't hurt,
told me you didn't feel a thing any more.
You thought nobody could see your pain,
but your eyes betrayed you still.

Your eyes tell me everything.
Now you're so interested in your laces,
maybe you broke her heart and now
you can no longer look at her face,
but your eyes betray you still.
