Trial Run Is Over

Trial Run Is Over

A Poem by Beren

We dance with the impossible
But we create the rhythm

We sing with the devil
but we let him in

If we don't like the dance
We'll find a new culture

If we don't like the songs
We'll write new ones

You take the guitar
and I take your hand
Just sit there and wait
to be the greatest muse
of the greatest songs

Lately I've been singin in the car
About the things we've ever loved
And when it's my turn
All  I can think about is your name,
Your laugh, and your dry jokes

Cause you make me feel like I've met a better version of me but as a man

We laugh to dark humor
But we live with them

We can cry together
Cause we share the pain

If we don't wanna laugh
Fine, I'll lay on your chest

If we don't wanna cry
Best time to live our manifest

Prepare a black coffee
You have a guest
Just sit there and wait
at the airport
I have a suitcase

Lately I've been dreaming in my bed
About all the things we've ever had
But I don't remember my life before you
You ruined all my plans
about the life and the death

Cause you make me believe in a life form where it's just the two of us,
And everything before you was just a trial run of life.

This poem touches on themes of creativity (through music and art), the interplay of light and dark emotions, and the idea of finding a soulmate who reveals a better version of oneself.

Words like "dance," "sing," "cry," and "laugh" evoke a sense of movement and emotional expression, while phrases like "greatest muse" and "black coffee" add layers of meaning and personal touch.

NICELY INKED, I enjoyed reading.
