I disagree with the assessment of the Turk. Because since in a republic the power rests in the authority of the people. Therefore I believe it is the democratic duty of the people to concern themselves personally with the means and conditions of their circumstances. This way, through careful consideration the citizen may advance the best possible outcome for himself/herself by electing those representatives he/she most agrees with in policy. Vigilant citizenry is always the best deterrent to tyranny.

I have a good friend from near Istanbul. We met at a house warming party the local Arts council threw for my nephew. I meet the best people from all over the world. It's a shame more governments can't be like people and make friends instead of wars.
