Still alive, killing time at the cemetery Never quite buried -TS-

we are having coffee in your car

on the beach and in the bar 

oh love

you kissed me in the graveyard

i was there barely alive

told me that would keep us apart

my dad and your mom are there

they said we made a good pair

i'll replace her and you'll replace my father

it's been 5 months but i still couldn't write 5 poems about to get over you

i never let you cry or go

deleted all the messages and that photo

you didn't even know i had taken

i still check your playlist

in case you confessed you missed me

in the hidden songs you liked

ive been dreaming a lot since july

you'll attend my bday and i wont cry

for the first time in my life

i thought i wouldn't be the fall guy

i know you'll go on military duty soon

i'll wait for your call before June

cause i packed my things to leave on the full moon

i stopped reading books, so you can't call me smart

you used to say i was too much for a guy like you

so i waited till you reached

you stayed there and never took a step

blamed me for all the things i had

in my past and everything else

i said i really need to get rest, in my head

you never called since we called it quits

my friends said you were in a funeral suit

i drank for my "first last time" there

i used some words just to hurt

i still wait for your apology

i cant see any excuse for what you did to me

i still care

i still care

i still care

its been 5 months but

i couldn't write

5 poems to get over you.

Author's Note

My ex asked me when we broke up "when will I be able to get over our relationship" and I said after writing 5 poems.

I still haven't finished those 5 poems
and today has full moon

Life and time takes memories as a gift wrapped in very fragile tissue. Getting over certain happenings can leave so many emotions locked in time, tisn't easy to say goodbye. Your words inevitably leave a lasting wake behind it.. this is no exception. Sadly superb writing, Beren.

5 poems to get over, those must be the hardest 5 to write and share. this poem is a sincere play of your heart, the caring heart that can only love and forgive. In this world and life, we all love and experience relationships, but when it doesn't work out, it hurts real bad and getting over that is like walking on hot coal with naked feet, trying to balm the burns and enduring the pain to turn yourself into something quite beautiful and more. letting go is the only way to restart. this poem is so personal and honest, leaves a very deep imprint. thank you for sharing this, Beren.

I'll give you an example again today from another new pop song.
taylor swift sings the following in one of her songs;
"Saying goodbye is death by a thousand cuts
(...)
But I'll be all right, it's just a thousand cuts"
even if you walk barefoot on coal or have thousands of wounds, they all have a common healing process: if you don't touch the wound, it heals in time.
as you said "letting go is the only way to restart"

Time is a healer because slowly things fade and you make new memories or atleast try to. but you have to tend to the wound and apply some self-love because there's nothing more beautiful than yourself. once we see that, everything else around becomes beautiful, I think.
