limbo

limbo

A Poem by Beren Ongur

I can only endure God's uncertainty
and for that I got lost in too many lines
Being in the dark doesn't scare me
if I'm the only one who turn off the lights
I am the one who turned off the glow of the divines

You don't cause me a sunny* day
just because you made me to listen Doris Day.
You can't turn the "perhapses" in my head into yeses
 by asking me to dance.

I sleep in your arms wondering if you will leave me tomorrow
I stay close to the door so I can escape at any moment
You were bragging about turning winter into summer
It was just a climate crisis, honey

Every time I kissed you my lips would split
and we thought it was passion
Is red the color of love or blood?
When I told you I hated the movie The Notebook
you should have known I couldn't stand these fights

You made me believe in the dream that an empty lot
 would become a mansion
While carrying the bricks, you left me there
and went to the nearest broken heart
I can turn this into a real poem but
 yours is just Conceptual Art.

A heartfelt poem that reads raw and breaths pain. Pain is the twin sister of love infact they are conjoined twins. A Janus face if you would. Your poem presents this idea well that in this universe of ballance there can not be one without an equal amount of the other. Love without hate would not be love it would be emotionless. Loved the poem

What a wonderful poem! The line "Is red the color of love or blood?" really touched me because it sets two different kinds of mindsets as you read it, a positive and a negative one of course and then you can't choose which one to follow since they both have their reasons to just make sense. I also love the specific mentions you make to Doris Day and the Notebook and how you blend them into the poem so well, kind of like a recipe. By the way, I love the Notebook but I agree it is toxic, the first time I watched and every other time for that matter it made me cry, but I still like the drama lol. Anyways, exceptional work!!! :)

Wow thank you so much for taking time to read and comment!!! Take care!
Red is both love and blood, love is both pleasure and pain, this really conveyed a familiar place to me, almost like a lake cabin, a cabin remembered fondly but visiting it remebered why its hated it, no electricity, no indoor plumbing, just something beautiful in the mind. Well done

Ditto dude, have a great day as well
I think red is the color of both...so maybe love is just concept and not a reality?
well, as Doris sang, "whatever will be will be."

I think you should be more than a poet; an actor in a movie. You can do a better job than those movies you mentioned. Never watched them, but I can see you did not like much in them or the message.

not here or not there. this is brought out well here. written with pure feelings, words here do say and say it with a pinch of ache. the last stanza of the poem sums it all and brings together this write completely. we sometimes try hard to build something beautiful, but what never was will never be. left in the lurch is a hard feeling to put through.

I enjoyed reading this one, my friend. It points out that no matter how much we may wish it, we can't change the experiences of others or their opinions. But we may encourage or comfort them or even affect those opinions in some way that leads to self-revelation. I believe the greatest and most sure measure of love is sacrifice. I have seen this truth made evident in the raising of my kids over the years and in my marriage. We sacrifice for those we love; our sweat, our blood and tears so the concept of the color of blood and love need not only be mutually exclusive but I believe they are often found in combination of the human experience. Just a great write, here. F.
