scarletA Poem by Ben
Dangerously curious for what lies ahead of me, I know I do not have much of a choice but to carry on.
Out of my shelter into this grind field I scan. Like it's the end of the world, and I now must defend all I can. As I breathe out, like smoke from a cigarette I see puffs dancing from my mouth. To the beat of their tonics they chyme, It excites me. This must be how its like to live as a fish. Perhaps this air is just too thick, and warm. But black scarlet please don't give me the chills. I just want to get to know you more. Silence is our common language, So watch me while I sleep-- But you have my permission to go away when I awake. I would love to not be so frightened of you. © 2011 Ben |
