Just EnoughA Poem by Benson OsujiMetaphysical representing what we have become There could have been more But there was less to store
It could have been much But no retinue called for such It was never enough B'cus it was never theirs to plough Then the wind rumbled on And hunger sang in the sun Once full stomachs ran dry Once dry eyes begun to cry It was never enough B'cus it was never theirs to plough Just enough Chukwu seemed never to bring Though men's bending backs begun to cring The little ones cried for more Even with their parents tired sore They drained it all And bought their fall It was never enough B'cus it was never theirs to plough Chukwu means God in Igbo tribal language © 2018 Benson OsujiAuthor's Note
