Give and loose

A poem about greed

All my life I believed

That he who gave received

That the universe paid our weight

For being a giver

But now I wonder

How goodness is forgotten like an idiot in yonder

No one wants to give

Even when they have received

Now I call unto me

All that live and hear

From the sun to the wind

Is a man worthy of goodness

For a thousand experiences

Have thought me

Life is not a game of give and receive

But of a truth give and loose

i believe there is a deep truth here that speaks to the prevailing consumer mentality we witness today...some are happy to take, take, take and give little in return...but i do also believe that there are those out there who expect return for giving and that is not truly giving...giving should require no expectation of return...i like where this piece takes me, Bensoin
