Seven minutes with Africa

Seven minutes with Africa

A Story by Benson Osuji
"

A story about a boy who talks to mother Africa

"
Once upon a time mother Africa humble and in service was sad for she was backward and exploited day by day she withered for there was no one to please her. One day a young Berber boy found mother Africa(in human form) at a water hole where he had gone to fetch water for his sick mother who was dying in a cave nearby.
He drew close to her slowly and politely asked ''mother why do tears fill your eyes?'' she answered still sobbing child I sob because I lose much in my service to others and gain little, and yet look at me dressed in rags. he answered her mother do not weep for in your sadness have your children suffered much and don't you know mother that whoever giveth much receives much. Arise  mother and claim your place in the stars for by tears neither you nor your children gain. With that mother Africa arises beaming with a smile and raises her banners high.
