A day as the prince

A day as the prince

A Story by Benson Osuji
"

a tale of a slave and prince

"
The sun toured around the sky when prince Menelik and his humble slave Mbengue moved to the Nile for their bath. As they stood at the bank of the Nile the prince asked Mbengue to state his most sincere wish in this life, at first he refused and covered up that his most sincere wish was to serve the prince after much persuasion  he agreed and after taking a deep breath answered the prince ''my wish is to be free and never serve another for in freedom was I born and in freedom must my life end.
Then prince Menelik answered him ''for that is a small request I would grant if you would fulfil my wish'' then the prince sat on a stone and said ''Ever since I was young I had thought of what it would be like to be a commoner to be free without any princely duties.

thanks a lot
A nice wish at the end. To know the thoughts and place of a commoner. A wise place to know by a prince. The good description brought to life place and wish. Thank you for sharing the excellent story.
