Had I Known Your Answer

an attempt to explain a little of what love is like

Had I known your answer, I may have asked then...but as I did not know, I did not ask, lest your reply be my greatest fear, for I am not so courageous as to hear the most beautiful sound sing the most devastating notes. But such things are soon swallowed, and lately, I have only found regret that I did not endure harsh notes, if only for those sweet sounds.
