A Story by ben

The archway connecting the two sides together has Benny slowing down that has Vincent wearing a question on his face that has Benny saying to him, “That archway is like a door without a door. No telling what’s on the other side.”

“I have an idea, and I bet you do too.”

“Boulders, a whole bunch of them is what I figure.”

Vincent twists around in such a way that he is looking over Benny’s shoulder before his eyes level on his. “Out of everybody, it was you and me who got that letter. Nobody else. It’s our time, and though the odds are against us, something deep inside is telling me that we will be alright. Besides, I promised Lori I would be home for supper.” Here comes that infectious smile before Vincent looks along their way to the arch. Rocks lie ahead, a lot of them. Most, if not all, are rounded, their jagged edges worn down to where each are smooth as if tumbled over and over again. A telling sign that Benny might be right has coal black eyes staring into hazel eyes. “We should go,” is put on the table.
