Grafitti

Grafitti

A Poem by Ben Rogers

I carved the words “I love her” to a tree trunk,

I wrote them out in spray paint on a wall,

They painted those bricks over one week later,

And I heard that tree is surely soon to fall,

So I told her that I love her this past Thursday,

She took the weekend to speak again,

She said she couldn’t love me as she kissed me,

So now I’m writing “I still love her” ‘til the end
