Fall

Fall

A Poem by Ben Rogers

Being with you

is throwing my jugular to the sky,

laying my veins bare against this knife,

it is tearing off my clothing

on a cold winter’s night

and jumping from a bridge into the Clyde,

being with you exposes

every secret that I hide

every skeleton that’s laying in my mind,

it is standing on the ledge

your window’s 14 storeys high,

it’s knowing that you’ll catch me

before I fly
