The Duo Dive

The Duo Dive

A Poem by Benjamin Andrianiko
"

Battle of thoughts mixed with solitude and sadness of a missing loved one

"

She stood there and stared.

Nothing in her heart was pre established.

The future was dark and miserable

At least she leaned forward knowing this was what made her vanish

The wind kissed at her hair,

the moon light softened her eyes.

Upset about her brother

she knew it wasn’t fair,

it was winding her up inside

at least she knew they would reunite with each other.

Dampness from the rain in the grasp of her palm

or was it the sweat that didn’t make her settle into her normal calm.

The stone felt cold as her fingertips clutched,

staring down in the deep dark blue slush

Reminiscing about the childhood which she embraced so much

knowing that she would never forget his aggressive demeanour but gentle touch.

A day without her big brother caught her in the throat

she couldn’t imagine a life with out the big cluts,

a simple leap would be all that it took

The wind kissed at her hair,

the moon light softened her eyes.

Upset about her brother

she knew it wasn’t fair,

it was winding her up inside

at least she knew they would reunite with each other.

The moon periodically dissipated with passing clouds

the voice in her head screamed so loud!!

You can do it,

stay there!

He would be proud if you stood tall

The other side said id love to watch you fall….

The angels and demons screamed so loud on each shoulder.

she had no time to ponder.

It had crept up since he had gone it was too much to bear

she had to join.

The wind kissed at her hair,

the moon light softened her eyes.

Upset about her brother

she knew it wasn’t fair,

it was winding her up inside

at least she knew they would reunite with each other.

Sadness and depression are a closely mixed cocktail which no one deserves.

However, no one can understand unless they observe, preserve and unquestionably hold back like a military reserve.

you cant taste, feel, smell or touch it.

It can creep up ruin your dreams, ambitions and treat you like s**t.

its a chemical imbalance in which you cant help but admire it with resolute.

It’ll arrive like an unwanted lawsuit ready to abolish.

Mixed with sadness, loneliness and ignorance she had to battle hard to hold on to the rail

regardless of her strength her mind was broke.

She missed the big brother, father and family nail,

the deep dark water reflected his face shrouded in a cloak.

With a gentle push of her slippery shoes she gave a slight wobble and release of her hand.

she dived with a smile knowing things would be better.

Nothing would trouble her now she was free falling unmanned.

His smile turned sinister as she realised what had happened.

Depressions sadistic face revealed itself in the water and looked at her proud.

it had another victim while hid under the sociologically acceptable shroud.
