My Bonfire Rememberance

My Bonfire Rememberance

A Poem by Benjamin Andrianiko
"

Bonfire Night, 5th November, Guy Fawkes,

"
Through smoke and mirrors we accept our fate,
On a single night many years ago,
An individual refused to accept what laid.
With propaganda and misinterpretation we lead the way,
Only to be shocked by what we discovered only twenty years too late.

T'was November the 5th 1605.
He saw no reason to do the treason
except being fed up of the government fuelled lie.
That was his cause and just enough reason,
To cause the upset and jurisdiction to the warm government pie.

With gunpowder in tow and a wet foot off the Thames,
He set off north to destroy the governmental 'friends.'
Through frustration and perseverance  he wanted to destroy what they caused.
In the end it was worth an applause.

He was sick of the frustration the lie and the deceit.
It was a cause to mark his defeat.
Blow them away till the no longer speak,
to end the lies and deception that make his soul weak.

Through crowded streets he wandered lost,
Yet to destroy what he wanted most,
It was time to change what the leeches have created.
An inefficient society in which the poor were belated.

On broken stools and cramped conditions.
With insufficient  food and insecure admission.
Their fate was nothing but a processed remission.
Accepted and led to their slaughter was a secure ambition.

He crawled into the houses, evil above,
He knew it was time to destroy what was within.
It was about time to release the dove.
Peace and love was his only cause.
It was time to recreate the sociological bin.

With footsteps and shouts they scattered in the corridor.
Surrounded him, they cut off his border.
It was time to accept his future,
as a mythological martyr for the new world order.

Five hundred years later,
we remember our leader,
He created the new Westminster.
The reason we remember the gunpowder plot.
Unfortunately it reminds us of the character we are not....

Remember, remember the fifth of November.
The gunpowder treason and plot.
I know of no reason why the 'Gunpowder treason should be forgot.'
