His Torment .......A Poem by Benjamin J BoothA man's daily struggle with the status quo .......His Torment ....... The alarm intrudes in the dark, Shattering the calm he once knew. His eyes are screwed shut, work must start, Time to join the rest in the queue. He boards a train, in pouring rain, Sits next to a man and his wife. In their domain, he can’t complain, The truth is he fucked up his life. The truth is brutal, so hard to take, Is he as worthless as he thinks? People are nothing but cruel and fake. False friendships and smiles, it stinks. The noise can be heard for miles, When the factory breathes a breath. No one hears footsteps on roof tiles, Edging their way closer to death. But today is not the day though, Doubts start to creep into his mind. Will he jump or is it for show? A seal of death as yet unsigned.
