The Absence of GodA Poem by Benjamin J BoothA man coming to a realization about his god and the relief he feels. The Absence of God God that never wert! Are thou disguised from me? Unable to hide the hurt, that grows like a tree inside mine heart of ecstasy. Priests are pale with thought, that thou do not exist. Stories they have taught are the truth! They insist, with beloved Christ, the Bibles words they twist. Turbulent and brooding, thou absence I accept. With this rant concluding, into a god free zone I leapt, with spiritual relief, that across me had swept!
