The road to emptiness.

"

Broken                                  


A foetus lies motionless, snapped from it's cord;

the future lies empty, the promise was flawed.

Silence holds court, deep dark as the womb.

A cradle lies cold in a pastel clad room.


A glass lies in shards on a fire-lit hearth;

finest cut crystal, an object of worth?

Once, no more, no attempted resurrection

could now restore what once was perfection.


A grave lies solitary, all now departed.

A wedding ring lies in the dust discarded.

Tears are no more, no more words to be spoken -

something, somewhere inside lies broken.

I liked the usage of the words to ultimately come up with the title of your verse...it's effectiveness in each line --- gives a slow burn within the read to the audience...the rhyme scheme is not hindered and adds to the wholeness of this write...and within that strict format lies again the word --- broken...
