To Be Without FearA Poem by Maurice
Never was there love or peace.
Each day was a new disaster. One attack followed the next, Each one more caustic than the other, Like showering in acid rain, The fury and venom of hatred never abated, And I yearned for freedom. It's all over now. The screeching and shouting have stopped. The perpetual warfare is no more. Sleeping peacefully is already a reality. I actually hear the quiet now for a change. And it's a wondrous relief to be without fear. Copyright © © 2010 MauriceReviews
